At Alesco, we support students and families at every stage of their educational journey.
Whether you are exploring early years education, choosing a school, applying to university, or considering alternative or specialist education pathways, we provide clear, structured guidance to support informed educational decisions.
We work with students from early years through to adulthood, including those following mainstream academic routes, vocational and technical pathways, and non traditional education models. We also support students who require additional or tailored learning support as part of their educational planning.
Our role as an independent education consultancy is to help you understand your options, clarify priorities, and navigate the education system in Portugal and, where relevant, internationally, in a way that aligns with your goals and circumstances.
Who We Support | Education Pathways
We can support students at any educational level, including:
Preschool and Early Years
Guidance on early childhood education options in Portugal, including Portuguese state provision, private and international settings, and alternative approaches such as Montessori and Waldorf. We help families understand admissions processes, availability, and what to expect at each stage of early years education, including considerations around learning support and school readiness where appropriate.

School Age Education in Portugal
Support with primary and secondary education across Portuguese state schools, private and international schools, and a wide range of curricula. This includes British, IB, American, French, German, the Portuguese national curriculum, and alternative or hybrid education models.
We also help families understand how different schools approach learning support, inclusion, and pastoral care, so they can assess overall fit as well as academic provision.
University and Further Study
Advice and application support for university pathways in Portugal and internationally. This includes public and private universities, foundation and access programmes, English taught degrees, and realistic entry routes based on academic background and future plans. We can also advise on support structures and accessibility at university level as part of the decision making process.
Alternative and Specialist Education Pathways
Guidance for students exploring vocational education, technical courses, access or bridging programmes, homeschooling, flexible schooling, or specialist provision.
This may suit students seeking a more practical, flexible, or individualised route, including those who have not thrived in a traditional academic setting.

How We Work
Our education consultancy services are offered in clear levels, allowing students and families to choose the type and depth of support that best suits their situation.
Level 1.
Advice and Guidance Consultations
This is the starting point for many clients.
Through an online video consultation, we provide tailored advice based on your specific circumstances and questions. This may include an overview of education systems in Portugal, available pathways, admissions processes, timelines, and realistic options.
Advice and Guidance consultations are ideal if you are still exploring possibilities, need clarity before committing to a route, or want expert input on a specific educational question.
Level 2.
Education Reports and Shortlists
When you need structured information to support decision making, we offer tailored education reports and shortlists.
These may include local area reports, school and curriculum comparisons, university or course research, and tailored shortlists based on your educational profile – including learning style, language, location, academic background, and future goals.
Our reports are factual, comparative, and designed to help you narrow down education options with confidence.
Level 3.
Applications and Registration Support
The application and registration process can be complex and time consuming.
We can support you with part or all of the process, from guidance on requirements and documentation through to full application management. This includes school admissions in Portugal, university applications, access programmes, and alternative education routes.
Level 4.
Education Packages
For students and families who want comprehensive support, we offer education packages that combine multiple services into a clear, structured journey.
Packages typically include Advice and Guidance consultations, educational profiling and shortlisting, and application support.
This approach provides continuity, clarity, and dedicated support throughout the educational decision making process.
Coaching and Preparation
We also offer coaching services to support students and families through key transitions and decision points.
This may include preparation for school or university interviews, support around educational transitions and relocation, and guidance on adapting to new educational environments.
Coaching can be booked as a standalone service or included as part of an education package.
Additional Support Services
Through trusted partners, we can connect students and families with additional services such as tutoring, language support, specialist assessments, childcare, and relocation related services.
Our aim is to ensure students and families have access to a well coordinated support network alongside their educational planning in Portugal.
At Alesco, we believe that the right educational pathway looks different for every student. Our role is to help you understand your options, assess them realistically, and move forward with clarity.
